![]() However, the front serrations and "Extreme S" trigger upgrades over the M9A3 made me think that this was going to be like a FDE version of my 92x Performance, and sadly that is far from the case (and sadly I couldn't try the trigger before owning). My biggest reason for purchasing this pistol was obviously the optics mount and the threaded barrel will come in handy when my can finally gets approved. It seemed that way from the pictures, so I was wondering if the M9A4 might replace my 92x Performance (assuming I could part with its gorgeous looks - very difficult). Prior to owning, it seemed like the M9A4 was going to be pretty darn close to my 92x Performance. Anyone consistently getting 98 or greater average score is most likely using a rest (vs my testing done offhand) or has Popeye arms that mere mortals do not possess, so 95 is exceptional. Top possible score is 100 but realistically anything above 95 is extraordinarily excellent. I've done over 10k dry fire rounds this way with over dozen pistols, so this demonstrates the ease of pulling off accurate shots without the live fire recoil coming into play. * - 10 Rounds of dry fire using MantisX mounted the same way shooting into a laser bullet at the same target done back to back. Thicker - difficult to install MantisX but easier than M9A4 Thicker - extremely difficult to install MantisX This is the biggest failure of this pistol. Lok grips weren't much better for me but haven't tried Toni yet. Utter crap - no grip - not compatible with legacy 92 series due to frame mounted safety. Sandpaper grippy and compatible with legacy 92 series Red Fiber Front / Blacked Out Rear screw adjustable for windage and elevation ![]() Tritium Dot drift adjustable for windage, not adjustable for elevation. Narrow shelf and angled - difficult to enage one handed with large (glove size) hands because frame mounted safety gets in the wayįrame mounted - acts as an excellent gas pedal Wider shelf & straight - easy to release with right thumb ![]() ( TIP - this table is easier to view on the desktop as the mobile version requires a lot of scrolling to the right) Feature Items in the table are listed in the order I observed them, so apologies for the randomness. I didn't compare against any others as these are the only Berreta's I own and I appreciate they are for different purposes (which is why I own both). Here are what amounts to my unboxing and initial handing observations between the two pistols. Tonight I just picked up my M9A4, so I haven't shot it live, but I have put 10 rounds of MantisX through it to get a telememetry benchmark for this discussion. I've owned my 92x Performance for a little over a year and have shot at least 1000 live round and well over 1000 dry fire shots with MantisX & G-Sight ELMS. ![]()
